F-35B Lightning aircraft from the Royal Air Force's 207 Squadron have arrived on board aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth for training.

The pilots will conduct carrier qualifications while on board the Royal Navy's most powerful vessel which will see some of the pilots fly from a carrier for the first time.

Departing from RAF Marham in Norfolk, the F-35Bs arrived on HMS Queen Elizabeth on Wednesday.

The ship tweeted: "Elegant landings from members of @OC207Sqn. Welcome! Lots of exciting flying to come - watch this space!"

HMS Queen Elizabeth can hold up to 40 aircraft and has been the Royal Navy's Fleet Flagship since 2021.

The 65,000-tonne ship recently passed the Isle of Wight, according to the vessel-tracking website Marinetraffic.
