Militaries around the world are famous for their immaculate uniforms.
There are thousands of types of military uniforms across the globe, and each one carries its own distinctive look.
From combat dress, camouflage and parade uniforms, each soldier wears the pride of their nation on their body.
But, Alex Candlin asks, which country's military has the coolest uniform of all and which of these would you prefer to parade in?
United States Marine Corps
The United States Marine Corps is distinctive because its Dress Blues uniform is the only one in the US that is designated to include the red, white, and blue colours of the American flag.
The distinctive uniform represents the values and standards that the Marine Corps lives and fights by, with its origins dating back to the American Revolution.
The Dress Blues uniform is used for ceremonial duties and parades.
The Royal Horse Guards
The uniform from The Royal Horse Guards, also known as The Blues and Royals, dates back to the restoration of Charles II in 1660, when the armoured heavy cavalry was transferred to Royal duties. The uniforms they wore were dark blue.
They later earned the nickname 'The Blues', in contrast to the red uniforms worn by their Life Guard counterparts. The history and Royal connection are still carried by the style of the uniform today.
The Royal Regiment of Scotland
No-1A ceremonial uniforms are worn during state, ceremonial, and formal occasions such as Royal Guards, Guards of Honour, Quarter Guards and public duties.
The uniform is also worn by officers when carrying out the duties of Equerry at Court.
With a combination of the blackcock and white-coloured feathers on the headdress, the Jacket Ceremonial No-1 Dress and the tartan worn kilt, this uniform shows the pride of Scotland in all its glory.
Mongolian State Honor Guard
This ceremonial unit in Mongolia has its uniform styled on the 13th century dress of the Mongol Empire under Genghis Khan.
Formed in 1955, the unit is used for ceremonial purposes and is officially known as the Special Battalion of the Guard of Honor.
The company participates in major events such as visits from heads of foreign states, parades, and military delegations.
1st Cavalry Division Horse Cavalry Detachment
A cool uniform looks even more impressive when worn on horseback. Similarly, to the Blues and Royals, and the US Marine Corps, the uniform of this detachment has maintained its historical style until the present day.
Matching a blend of cowboy style with the 1870-era military horseman, the 1st Cavalry Division Horse Cavalry Detachment is a living example of post-Civil War American history and appearance.
Which of these uniforms would you rate as the coolest?
