15 December 1943: Keel laid by the Bethlehem-Hingham Shipyards, Hingham, Mass.22 January 1944: Launched and christened, sponsored by Mrs. Fred W. Nickel, Private Nickels' mother09 June 1944: Commissioned at Hingham, Mass. by Cmdr. M. G. Vangeli, USN, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, representing Com1stND; Lcdr. Claude S. Farmer, USNR, in command31 May 1946: Decommissioned at San Diego, Cal.-- June 1946: Assigned to NRT, 12th Naval District; towed to Sacramento, Cal. for use as a Naval Armory08 July 1948: Reactivated, placed "In Service"; assigned to NRT, 12th Naval District at San Francisco, Cal.22 September 1950: Recommissioned, continued assignment at San Francisco, Cal.-- December 1951: Reassigned to NRT, 11th Naval District at San Diego, Cal.22 February 1958: Decommissioned at San Diego, Cal. after 13 years and 8⅓ months of service01 December 1972: Struck from the NVR09 June 1973: Sold for scrapping to the Levin Metals Co., San Jose, Cal.
