USS BUCHANAN (DD-484)

USS Buchanan (DD-484) steaming near USS Wasp (CV-7) in the South Pacific, circa August 1942, during the Guadalcanal Campaign. Note her camouflage scheme.

TCG Gelibolu (D346, ex-USS Buchanan) underway in 1970, location unknown. Turkish Navy

USS Buchanan, DD 484 and USS McCalla, DD 488, after recommissioning in preparation for transfer to Turkey. Date is probably 1948, as they still fly American colors. They still also have the Mk 12 radar on their Mk 37 directors, which will be replaced with Mk 28 before transfer to Turkey. USN photo, probably taken at Charleston, where they recommissioned.
