HMS Leander NZ Div of the RN - Date 22 Jul 1941

80 years ago HMS Leander was at anchor in Alexandria, Egypt sporting her dazzle paint job #Dazzle was used during both World Wars to make it difficult for enemy ships to estimate a target's range, speed, and heading .

In 1941 the New Zealand Division became the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) and she was commissioned as HMNZS Leander in September 1941.
