RNZN History - These images are probably the only existing images of Q1186 (top left). Interestingly, Q1186 possible never had a P number she was cannibalised for spare parts in 1947- 48 Hull was sold 1948 for 660 pounds to J B Jobling Auckland who rebuilt her as private launch and named Wings Afloat he resold her in 1956 to the old Coast Guard and renamed Stratus resold again 1958 then did a runner to Sydney as Wings Afloat unknown since 1970.

The ML to right (Tarapunga Q1187) is inboard of  Q1184 (Paea).  All three ML's alongside HMNZS Philomel. Images from 1943 - 1945.

The 'Officers Motor Boat' - named White Lady - was 'given' to the Auckland Sea Cadet Unit TS Achilles in the late 70's and I drove her many times training Sea Cadets and going away to camps on Motuihe Island. The dockyard mateys looked after us on each refit, donating ropes, paint, diesel... Magic days.
