The Royal Air Force has delivered cold storage units to the Lebanese Armed Forces in Beirut, following a large explosion in the city's port this month.
A C-17 aircraft carrying the containers arrived in Lebanon on Saturday from RAF Brize Norton.
The delivery of the units, which can be used to store medical supplies, comes as relief efforts in Beirut continue following the huge explosion which killed at least 171 people.
In addition to destroying the country’s main port, the explosion also damaged large parts of the capital, with nearly 300,000 people being left homeless in the immediate aftermath.
Group Captain Emily Flynn, Station Commander at RAF Brize Norton said: "We are providing aircraft to support the Foreign Office and the Lebanese Government in a time of crisis.
"It is a great example of the RAF’s ability to deploy rapidly in support of the UK Government and our allies across the world."
The delivery follows a number of actions taken by Britain to support the capital during its time of crisis, including the arrival of HMS Enterprise.
The Royal Navy survey vessel has been sent to carry out an assessment of the damage sustained to Beirut's port.
Enterprise also brought with her tents, cots and field kitchen systems.
The tents will be used by 500 Lebanese Armed Forces personnel who are involved in providing assistance in the aftermath of the devastation.
British Army soldiers have also been helping in the capital, delivering equipment to set up emergency field kitchens.
Military advisors deployed to Beirut are continuing to work alongside the Lebanese Armed Forces to assess what further assistance the UK Armed Forces can offer.
