The scheduled repair of all systems and mechanisms, including a propulsion system, life support systems, radio engineering and hydrographic equipment, communication and navigation systems, was carried out at the Admiral Vladimirsky OIC. Technical support of repairs, as well as the development of design documentation for repair work at the Admiral Vladimirsky OIC, was carried out by 51 Central Design and Technological Institute of Ship Repair.
At the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, set the task of comprehensively checking the ship during factory sea trials, which will last until November 18, as well as attentive to the preparation of the ship’s crew for a long voyage and the training of hydrographic specialists participating in the expedition.
“The launch of the Admiral Vladimirsky oceanographic research vessel according to the plan of the Navy High Command on the Antarctic expedition is scheduled for December. Leaders of all levels need to make sure that they are well prepared for this responsible campaign, which will take place in different latitudes. This also applies to the technical readiness of the vessel, and the provision of all necessary supplies to the required level, and solid knowledge of all navigational features of navigation areas, ”said Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, at a meeting that examined the preparation of the Admiral Vladimirsky oceanographic research vessel for the Antarctic expeditions.
