 New Mexico class battleship USS Mississippi, early 1943. Having fortunately being absent from Pearl Harbor on December 7 1941 she served throughout the Pacific campaign, notably in the last ever combat between battleships at Surigao Strait in November 1944. She survived well into the 1950s as a test bed for guided weapons.
