Nordic Maritime announced today its 75.5 meter, 6300 ton subsea service vessel Mokul Nordic has signed a 30+15 day charter with Statoil in the North Sea. This latest contract commences immediately and follows the vessel’s inaugural charter with N-Sea Offshore.
“At Nordic Maritime, we are delighted to have won our inaugural contract with Statoil in 2014, the year in which we celebrate our 15th anniversary,” said Kjell Gauksheim, Nordic Maritime CEO.
Mokul Nordic is a DP2-equipped, Vik-Sandvik Design VS470 MKIII subsea service vessel capable of ROV / IMR operations with her 100 ton active heave compensated crane rated for 2,000 meters of water depth. She was delivered this year from Tebma Shipyard in India.
The ship is powered by a pair of 2320 kW diesel engines driving two controllable pitch, 2900 mm propellers. The ship also has two 800 kW tunnel thrusters forward and two 590 kW tunnel thrusters aft.
“Her sister vessel, Nordic Amprak, is currently under construction and will be delivered in the second quarter of 2015, according to Nordic Maritime.
