Irish Naval Ship Assists Stricken VesselIRISH NAVAL SHIP LE AISLING

The Irish Naval Service vessel, LE Aisling, provided assistance to a stricken vessel, MV Hellesport Charger, off the Irish west coast on January 14.

 
MV Hellespot lost main engine propulsion 100 nautical miles west of Loop Head, Co Clare. The Irish Naval vessel reached the stricken vessel on Tuesday morning and the vessel arrived in port on the same day.
LE Aisling is an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) of the Irish Naval Force. She is the last of the three OPVs built for the Navy. The OPVs were designed to patrol the Irish Exclusive Economic Zone.
