A total of 40 passengers, 27 of which are foreigners and four are minors, arrived safely in Coron, Palawan after the personnel of Coast Guard Detachment (CGDet) Linapacan towed their distressed motor boat at the vicinity waters of Pangaldauan Island last Thursday, 25 April. The wooden hulled Oniel Cruiser, owned and operated by Nilo J. Badajos, incurred mechanical derangement on its shaft while underway from El Nido to Coron. Immediately, personnel of CGDet Linapacan conducted towing operations using M/Bca Alejandra and rescued the 40 passengers together with the seven crew of Oniel Cruiser. CGDet personnel advised the owner/operator of the motor banca to conduct thorough repair/replacement of shafting before they resume their normal operation.
