MV Acavus was one of nine Anglo Saxon Royal Dutch/Shell tankers converted to become a Merchant Aircraft Carrier (MAC ship). The group is collectively called the Rapana Class.

Originally a civilian tanker, Acavus served in the North Atlantic throughout the Second World War after being converted into an escort carrier in 1943. She returned to merchant service postwar and named Iacara in 1952. She was scrapped at La Seine in 1963.
