Construction of first of 6 new Overseas Patrol Vessels for New Caledonia begins at Socarenam in Saint-Malo

 The POM (Patrouilleur Oure-Mer, Overseas Patrol Boat) program was announced by Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, at the Assises de l'Economie de la Mer on December 3, 2019. It allows the restoration of the component of patrollers stationed overseas.

The six POMs (Patrouilleurs Oure-Mer, Overseas Patrol Boats) will be delivered by the end of 2025 and will fully replace the older generation of P400 patrol boats (Picture source : Socarenam)
