Cargolux, a Luxembourg based cargo airline, has taken wearing a face mask while flying to a whole new level by painting a mask onto the front of one of its Boeing 747 freighter aircraft.

The Cargolux 747 is one of the few that opens up at the nose, allowing for large cargo to be loaded much faster and easier - so you could say the mask is covering the aircraft's mouth and nose.

In a tweet, the company said the paintjob reflected their commitment to the fight against COVID-19.

The message 'Not without my mask' is also painted on both sides of the aircraft.

Cargolux isn't the first airline to mask one of their aircraft.

Back in May, United Airlines attached a plastic mask to the front of one of their Dreamliners, however it was taken off before the aircraft departed for safety reasons.

Their mascot Ursa also became their mask-ot, with a tiny mask being attached to the teddy bear's nose in an effort to encourage children to wear a mask when travelling.
